Honestly most people use Python because it has fantastic libraries. They optimize it because the language is middling, but the libraries are gorgeous
ETA: This might double post because my Internet sucks right now, will fix when I have a chance

Ya never know you’re in the good ol days till they’re over
Well, now I’ve outed myself for no reason!
You know you can automate it right? Like long before the advent of AI we’ve been able to automatically tag things based off their content/source/whatever you want really.
This is why we developed the tagging system
Go set up an ollama instance and melt your worries away. Data in your hands once again.
However, you should also learn some restraint. Privacy and security aren’t an all or nothing battle. Everyone has some holes in their armor, they need them to breathe.
While OneNote for Windows 10 still has roughly half a year, Microsoft will start nagging users with update prompts much earlier. For starters, in June 2025, Microsoft will slow down the app’s sync performance, thus forcing customers to ditch the old app, especially those using OneNote on multiple devices or for real-time collaboration.
Next, in July 2025, banners will make their way to OneNote for Windows 10 to make sure users are aware of the upcoming end of support. Microsoft says these banners “could impact users workflows.” You do not say, Microsoft.
Wait. You’re gonna throttle them and then wait a month to tell them why you’re throttling them? What?
I almost feel like you’re intentionally avoiding what I’m actually saying. I am not praising the Borg as an exemplar of a good society. I am saying that they happen to have one aspect that is also present in what would be a good society. In my first comment I acknowledged that what they do is not okay, and then jokingly compared assimilation to socialism because it has 2 similar properties. I oversimplified for the sake of a joke. You’re being an ass for no reason over a joke about cyborgs being kind of similar to socialism. The joke used the Borg as a subject but literally any cyborg lifeform would fit the bill because the mechanical parts provide the sustenance and protection the worker needs.
At what point did I mention anything about the hive mind being a good thing? The only thing I praised was the fact that the hive provides homes and sustenance for its workers
Amazing. You’ve yet to actually make a point in this conversation, only disparage mine without any counterargument lol
Fully providing every single need to their people in an attempt to create the most efficient worker possible? It just so happens that their “work” is assimilating people into the hive, but… The methods surrounding their work are pretty nice.
I would be lining up to become part of the Borg tbf. It’s basically giga-socialism
Ballingon a budget
Edit: Unballing on a budget
If you’re gonna self-host you’re gonna need to learn to use a search engine. Find a tool that can be used to check what ports are open for a machine, there a several available.
I would try searching things like “Linux cli port scanner”
I just don’t understand your logic. In your mind it’s okay to make an assumption about the content of a link based off the name of the link. However, it’s not okay to make an assumption about the content of the other link and find out why the OP started the discussion. Rather, you believe it would be better to attack the OP for not explaining what their links were to your satisfaction.
Is that right?
The upfront reason was so that you would understand the discussion you’re part of lol
Have you hit it with anything to check if your ports are still open? There are a handful of tools for the task
What do I care what language the library is written in as long as it works for what I need it do?
