I smoke every day because every other form of escapism can’t get me away from the modern hellscape that we currently exist in.

A doctor prescribed me coke to treat my idiopathic hypersomnia. Didn’t realize computational finance grads could write scripts, but I’m happy

Seriously though, R is tedious as hell when dealing with statistical analysis. It can be fun but I found it to be too much work for things I could do more easily elsewhere. Python is great for many things financial but can be limiting, though it’s my favorite language probably because of its general use and ease of access.

I smoke weed every day because I like the neurochemistry it provides better than living sober.

Sure I can quit whenever I want, i have for plenty of job searches.

But it’s like, would you rather live your life never wearing shoes? When you could just be wearing shoes every day and your daily life is now more comfortable and easier to navigate?

    I wear shoes personally

I don’t think daily usage necessitates addiction. In my opinion addiction is continually use despite negative repercussions because of fear of withdrawal / not being able to operate without it.

Like I have sugary coffee almost every day but I wouldn’t say I’m addicted because I’m not experiencing any negative consequences from it. If I were gaining weight or having heart problems and still kept to it then I’d say that’s an addiction.

Same with pot, some people can use it every day without suffering many consequences. If your gaining weight from the munchies, or getting a smokers cough, or becoming antisocial etc. and still use it, that’s when it becomes problematic.

How would you feel/do, when there is a stressful day and you cannot have your coffee?

As for pot, i have met and been a daily smoker for many years. Everybody i knew that smoked daily had some social or personal issues and it definitely affected their ability to focus, memory and emotional awareness negatively.

I don’t think that daily use of psychoactives can go without addiction. It can be beneficial as medication for some, but there will be side effects and withdrawal symptoms, like with non psychoactive medication too.

“I am addicted to coke” looks like the one on the left and talks into his intercom, thinking it’s a phone.

Zero deals made today, maybe bought coke.

My dad was the kind of person who would do coke and drink all day and pretended he was he was “doing business” when he was really just calling everyone in his contacts and loudly being obnoxious at them for an hour or two each.

No idea how much money he conned out of people to support his habit but I estimated he probably spent at least a several hundred thousand dollars on cocaine in his life, not counting the hundreds of thousands or more he spent on nightly dinners where he held a captive audience while he ranted and raved like Trump.

I wish weed didn’t fill me with anxiety at even the smallest doses. I go through periods where I try to push through the initial uncomfortable stages, hoping that I’ll get used to being high and finally enjoy the drug but I am just filled with negative and self abusive thoughts. I hate weed but I wish I didn’t :/
