    If you express your viewpoint in a kind way, that’s genuinely the most “winning” you can possibly achieve.

    Convincing people in one go is not achievable by just finding the right words.

    People may disagree. They may downvote you to hell. They may thank you. They may agree. They may misunderstand.

    But as long as you write kindly, people will read what you say and give it thought. Maybe it plants a seed for them to change their mind another time.

    It takes years of practice. It’s not worth it.

    It’s not fun or fulfilling, it ends up just a compulsion to keep twats from dominating the talking points of a community.

      So true. It’s a lot more giving personally to use smaller forums where specific hobbies or interests only are discussed.

    I find usually when I can’t articulate something clearly, it’s because I haven’t thought about it/researched it well enough, and I should stop trying to contribute on that topic until I have a better understanding.

    That’s why I often end up writing long comments, but don’t hit post. Not a waste of time though, as it helps me identify areas in which I’m more ignorant than I thought I was.
