People who seem reasonable still say there are good people on both sides. I don’t understand that at all! My hairstylist moved here from vietnam as a kid. Last week i made a comment about bezos and he actually said, “both sides…”. I thought my brain was going to pop.
First would be to avoid interactions with the police - drive extra carefully, don’t let your vehicle inspection/registration expire, etc. It’s probably no longer safe to stand in the day labor zones. If they’re working under fake credentials, it might be better to find a cash paying individual to hire them as an independent contractor. Feel out your school district - mine has said they won’t be reporting anyone as undocumented. They have started referring people for excessive absences the last couple of years (that’s about getting butts in seats for funding) so you probably want to avoid getting sent to truancy court.

Don’t go to the ER. They’ll charge you an outrageous amount. Call your doc and see if you can just schedule a nurse visit. Before you go to urgent care, call them and let them know what you need and ask what they’ll charge. Make sure you don’t go to one that says ER
I would expect the first consequence - if it hasn’t happened already - would be for other countries to recognize that they can’t share intelligence with us and shouldn’t trust any they get from us.
This is so far over my head - i don’t understand it. I know my comment will likely be taken as offensive or condescending, but it’s really not the intent. I am so confused by sexuality/gender discussions. I don’t understand having a label that’s inclusive or exclusive of who someone will or won’t date. Doesn’t that change based on the people you meet? If you label one way, you meet someone you find attractive, you have chemistry, and then you find that they have parts that don’t fit your label, what do you do? I guess it’s part of dating - to weed out what you’re usually not attracted to? I partnered/married young, so that aspect of dating wasn’t openly discussed in the same way- we didn’t have the common words to describe like we have today. Also, being hetero and having mostly hetero friends, i guess we didn’t spend time thinking about how our relationships were similar or different from each others. I definitely understand putting descriptions of any kind of love out there so young people know they’re not alone, but beyond that I’m lost.

I’m in the Dallas area. People here think they’re tornado sirens, but they’re really outdoor warning sirens. They sound for a tornado warning, winds in excess of 70 mph, hail greater than 1.5", or anything else that creates an outdoor risk. They mean “go indoors and check local news.”
Grammatically you’re _____ -American for one generation. After that you’re just American. Which makes African American super confusing and weird.
