131·1 day agoWell, just in time for me to have activated my Windows 10 version so I’m good until 2032.
Never going to Windows 11, Microsoft, fuck you.

11·1 day agoofficial Linux gaming OS.
I wish they would fully commit to this instead of just giving people the option to install any OS on it.
People are going to install Windows if they can’t or won’t figure their way around Proton/Steam OS.

26·1 day agoAnd what Valve will get themselves in again if they do not price this right.
Consoles are essentially time-based luxuries because the hardware and technology can be obsolete within 1 - 2 years at a given. That’s why consoles remodel themselves after awhile to extend their life.
Valve seems to want to give people an alternative to prebuilt machines on the market. But, if they can’t price right where it’ll make someone think “I can build a better PC than that” or “I can find a better prebuilt than that” then the Steam Machine was a waste of everyone’s time and labor.
Should just stick to the Frame and Deck.

Games@lemmy.world•Our first look at the Steam Machine, Valve’s ambitious new game console
25·2 days agoThe specs do not impress me for a company that prides itself for being technologically creative. The Steam Deck was a massive success for what they were able to do with that. But this? This is like a glorified Raspberry Pi if it was done by Valve.
Even if you could expand the RAM and storage, everything else is just sitting there waiting to be obsolete in a couple years. I just don’t get who they’re trying to make this for. You can easily build a PC with a reasonable budget that could easily tackle things this cube probably couldn’t.
Individuals who game, are more likely going to look at this wanting all of the latest AAA games to work and I don’t see this cube doing the workload for long. And for the projected price point, it definitely won’t be worth the price.

Games@lemmy.world•'The PS5 is only in the middle of [it's lifespan],' says Sony CFO
5·4 days agoAnd it’s undergone like one remodel already, 5 years in. So, it’s going to get another remodel about 2 or so years down the road, signifying again how close to its end it would be. Then we’d get an announcement about another 2 years from Sony themselves about the PS6 and whatever else.
Then the PS5 will eventually cease.

1·4 days agoWell hold on.
You say you used Handbrake, which is about as anyone’s go-to to rip DVDs as MakeMKV is, and you didn’t exactly explain what went wrong. Because I refuse to believe that program simply just not working without what caused it to. Did you look up what settings you need to set it to rip the DVD by?

There are a lot of absolute shit opinions there, honey. You seem to forget that a lot of people on that instance are very argumentative at a given, that would guarantee trigger argumentative-like responses.
And you’re going to honestly believe a mod’s reasoning at face-value? Wow, you lack some serious coherent insight and awareness. You’re definitely the kind of fool who doesn’t read articles but believes headlines at face value.
