I’m from space!
Not all apps support notifications. And those that do work by checking your notifications every 15 min or so. Real-time push doesn’t exist on Lemmy
I’m using Arctic on iOS, but maybe some people can recommend Android solutions.
Problem is if you mod a community. The lack of reliable push is why some pretty terrible content often remains up for so long.
TIL someone shot whole series of these
Bad news is that we’re still not setup for Reddit-level user counts. Lemmy needs much better moderation tools to allow communities to stay on top of reports.
Hopefully a lot of new users will also produce new people contributing to Lemmy. Or, maybe some people will form some sort of nonprofit that allows dedicated designers and engineers to continually work on Lemmy. When people contribute as a side gig, most give up after a few months. Most of the Lemmy clients that were build during the Reddit APIocalypse are no longer alive.
I want a 3 axis chart of price, size, and number of ads in the UI.
People need to stop complaining about the ads and they need to start complaining about the existence of a Windows monetization team.
Kill that team now while the revenue is small and the shareholders won’t throw a giant hissy fit.
As long as that team exists, they’re going to be putting ads in shit. Cut the head off the snake.
Well, I guess we’ve now unofficially confirmed that, despite the fact that Siri is still terrible, Apple is also investing a shitload of money in large language models behind the scenes.
As a non windows user, can someone explain to be what all the fuss is about? It sounds like people are grumpy that they’re being shown a feature that they can’t use or don’t want to use, and MS is going to let people hide the UI for that.
What is wrong with this solution? Are people not going to be happy until every spec of the feature’s code is stripped from the OS?
Reality has a liberal bias.
If they want this model to show more right wing shit, they’re going to have to intentionally embed instructions that force it be more conservative and to censor commonly agreed upon facts.
