If you’re rebadging your Tesla because you feel some second hand shame for owning one now that it’s clear to anyone with eyes that Elon Musk is a literal Nazi, just sell it and buy a different EV.

…he was, though? We funded the Mujahideen to combat the Soviets in Afghanistan, and then when the USSR collapsed we cut him loose to get all chummy with the Saudi government so we could get that cheap oil.
Ah yes, the “free market” in action.
We are rotten to the core.
Yeah, I’ve been meaning to switch to OpenStreetMaps for a while now and this was the impetus to drop what I was doing and download it immediately. Fuck Google. So sick of this mask off tech plutocracy bullshit.
Edit: I’ve tried it a few times yesterday and today, and I like it. Works with Android Auto in my car, guidance voice isn’t annoying, directions are accurate. Only complaint is I’m not sure how to search up a business and have the app map me to the nearest location. I need to dig deeper and figure out if I just haven’t found it yet.
I would 100% drop GMaps if I could hit the directions button on a Google search and have it bring up OSM instead. Google Maps has been bugged for me for years and the maps app never gets the address from a browser search. I have to search for the business or address in the maps app itself for it to work.
Pizza is also ridiculously expensive where I live. For something that is comprised of almost entirely dough, cheese, and tomato sauce, it’s kind of criminal that some places are charging $20 or more for a large pie. It probably cost them $1.50 worth of ingredients to make when you factor in bulk pricing.
I kind of like that TOR is a more primitive version of the web out of necessity (because having these fancy webpages with graphics and other shit to load would just take forever through an onion relay) but I kind of hate that it’s just damn hard to find working links to stuff and the association with the seedy underbelly and criminal enterprises of the internet. Also, I’ve been totally spoiled with my fast internet connection to the clearweb because I no longer have the patience to click on a link and wait for 20 minutes for it to finish loading.
I guess in the future there might be more of a reason for people to retreat from the clearweb, especially considering how shitty things are going in western politics right now.
If lawmakers would simply make the entity responsible for the operation of these AI powered tools be fully liable for every decision that it makes, right or wrong, this kind of nonsense would vanish overnight.
I hope the people running itch.io have great lawyers, because I would be trying to take Funko to court for punitive damages over something like this.
Also, while we’re at it, reform the DMCA to disallow automated copyright related takedown requests without some sort of human reviewing it at the other end. It’s been abused to hell and back by big business.
Are Republicans still waiting for people who got the initial vaccine to drop dead overnight? lol.
Too many gold sinks at low level, not enough gold sinks at high level.
I have had plenty of painful moments, but a recent one is that my parents just don’t seem to understand that the first result on Google is an advertisement and that they shouldn’t be clicking on it. They literally can’t see the difference between a sponsored search result (which can often be a bad faith actor or a scammer paying to get their result to the top of the search results) and a genuine link to the real site they were trying to reach.
I have tried installing adblockers for them, but they end up disabling them for certain websites that require popups to be enabled and then they never re-enable it again and end up clicking on bullshit links.
