It has been almost 1 year since I upgraded to windows 11, and despite what hundreds of “news” sites and the terminally online say over and over, it’s been almost the same experience as windows 10… and better even in some ways.
So I’m starting to think all these articles are exaggerated bait for clicks that completely ignore essential details in order to sell an outrage story . Each time a new article pops out I get less interested. I suspect this will just be the norm, even when nothing these articles say will ever materialize.
If you use linux that’s very good, I use it on my home server… but I use Win11 on my main PC, and it has been really solid.
I’ve tried Immich, but found my plain SMB shares already did 80% of what
immich could doI wanted. The remaining 20% I could do easily with my favorite photo/video viewers (looping, filtering, tagging, location data).I also hate how it’s only a web portal for desktop. There’s no native desktop app, and no seamless integration with file browsers, video players, etc.
Maybe I look at it again in a few years
