It’s just that there’s something about the seriousness of a situation that inevitably draws me to try thinking of the funniest and/or most inappropriate things to say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i might not be half as funny without that added risk, lol

I can definitely relate to this. The friends that make you laugh are the ones who care the most.
